This year’s Christmas presentation is entitled BEHOLD. It's a word that means “to see or look upon”, but an even better and deeper translation of it would be to “fix your gaze on an object”, “observe with care”, “see with understanding” or “don’t miss this!”

BEHOLD is used over 1300 times in scripture and many of those instances occur in the Christmas story. Isaiah wrote “BEHOLD, the virgin shall conceive and bring forth a Son”.  The angel said to Mary BEHOLD, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son and shall call His name Jesus.  

When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds out in the field, he said to them “BEHOLD, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people!” 

This Christmas, let’s purpose to not only hear and see the beauty of the season, but truly BEHOLD God’s gift to us!
